We love weddings that are out of the norm. As a company specializing in doing destination weddings, as well as having conducted our own private site recces, there are a few destinations that we hold dear to our hearts. These are places that we would ourselves like to get married at! (And one of us did!) Admittedly, being great fans of the beach and the ocean, our personal favourites are a little biased. But, this is after all – our personal recommendation for destination wedding locations. And you can bet we have our resources and network stretched beyond your imagination!
Six Senses Ninh Van Bay
Evason Ana Mandara
Kayumanis Nusa Dua, Bali
This is weddings & honeymoon haven, being an exclusive private villa resort for adults only. The stretch of private, white-sand beach that overlooks the ocean makes it an extremely romantic place to hold your beach wedding ceremony. Or for something more traditional, the cigar room can be transformed into a glass chapel at your wish. The entire place rings true of its promises of privacy and the Balinese villas are designed for you to feel right at home. The staff’s service is amongst the best that we have known – attentive, professional and makes it a point that every care is taken to ensure your wedding goes smoothly. The beautifully gorgeous sunrise should not be missed. Take it with breakfast.
Tirtha Uluwatu, Bali
Set high on the cliffs of Southern Bali that provides you with a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean is Tirtha Uluwatu. It is indeed a wedding venue that will surpass all expectations. Towering fifty meters above the majestic Indian Ocean, there emerges an incredible floating Wedding Atrium posing as the centerpiece of the sprawling 6000sqm venue. This is the place to create lasting memories of marriages that are made in heaven, right here on the Island Of Gods.
The Nam Hai, Hoi An, Vietnam
Occupying acres of private white-sandy beaches facing the South China Sea, is The Nam Hai. Situated in the Ancient City of Hoi An (UNESCO) – where you will fall right in love with the charms of this ancient city, The Nam Hai offers luxury to those who are thinking of tying the knot here. The sprawling resort gives you a large number of options for your memorable wedding. Whatever it may be, The Nam Hai intends to live up to every of your expectations!
The Kingdom of cultural mystic and of Indiana Jones adventures. The spectacular Angkor Wat is already a favourite and popular destination for wedding portraits. What about the other parts of Cambodia that offers the same tranquility, magic and charm? One of the best kept secret is in a province called Kep. In the 1900's to the early 1960s, Kep was a thriving resort town for the elite French and Cambodians. However, time seem to have stoodstill for this little beach town - and this is the perfection of her charms.
One very beautiful place in Kep that would make a splendid wedding venue is the Knai Bang Chatt resort. Host a sunset reception at their famed Sailing Club and enjoy the freshest seafood you can savour in Cambodia!
When one mentions Macau, only the vision of glitzy neons and casinos come to mind - Asia's version of Las Vegas, so to speak. But dig deeper and further down south, you will come across a quaint little countryside called Coloane. If "Old Macau" is what you're looking for, the narrow, crumbling streets and disheveled temples of Coloane Village will transport you there. Perfect for wedding photography as this "Old Macau" stands as a living testament to Macau's dual Portuguese and Cantonese heritage. Coloane uniquely has beach-lined bays and wooded-hills all in one and it is oh-so-romantic for that little intimate wedding you dream of.
Pangkor Laut Resort
If there was a place that spelt romance, minus the snooty snobbishness, it would be Pangkor Laut Resort. It is our personal favourite in terms of a perfect romantic wedding and honeymoon location. From the moment you step off the ferry onto the resort, you can already smell the romance in the air. Being an island resort, it is a perfect getaway for those who do not wish to travel too far, yet have the sense that they have been transported to a secluded land of love. A wedding on the Emerald Bay offers stunning views of the sunset with the waters gently lapping at your feet while you exchange your vows.
Langkawi – the island of myths and legends truly has her charms and lures. We have been told by many a locals that if someone loves Langkawi the first time they step onto the island, they will always return. And we have been returning – even if just for a short weekend break! You will be spoilt for choices as to where you would like to hold your most special day. The island has lots to offer – from romantic wedding venues to intimate honeymoon escapades to eco-tourism adventures. Make sure you get a sunset wedding ceremony by the beach (best spot is at the Pantai Cenang stretch) – the beautiful sunset just shouldn’t be missed.
